There is a pineapple farm in Okinawa. Although it is more of a park with some shopping. You buy a ticket first and then you go on a ride in a car with a steering wheel but without a driver. It was very weird -- the car was turning on its own, we were instructed not to mess with the steering wheel at all. Here you can see the cart:
And here you can see that the roads were quite curvy. Yet again, the cart managed to turn on its own.
We saw different stages of pineapple growth along the way.
And some flowers.
Then we became victims of a great marketing move: the tour car dropped us off at some place and there was a sign that pointed towards the parking lot. Our walk to the parking lot was not short, and during that walk we passed a restaurant, we were offered to try some pineapple wine, we got to taste pineapple (that's where we got our money's worth of pineapple!), go through the store with all kinds of desserts made of pineapple, go through the gift shop, and finally through a noodle store. There was only one road to the parking lot, and the locals provided many opportunities for the tourists could spend some money along the way, they made sure the road was not too short (but not too long), and they made it not boring. It was quite a variety of places, I am sure I forgot a couple. Overall, however, it was a great experience.
Here is a picture from the walkway to the parking lot. A lady is cutting pineapples. The fresh juice is available right there.
Just interesting notes and pictures from our travels.
