Not far from Seibi-en there is a garden expo, where landscaping masters demonstrate what they can do and for how much.
This park (this picture and the next one) costs 950,000 yen.
There were about five gardens on display and this garden was the most expensive of them all.
The price was 1,580,000 yen.
Some more pictures of a typical Japanese-style park.
Just interesting notes and pictures from our travels.

Seibi-en Japanese garden/
Seibi-en is a relatively small (130,000 square feet), but very scenic Japanese-style landscape garden located in Hirakawa city, Aomori Prefecture. This garden was built in early 1900s and took 9 years to complete. It is listed as one of the best three gardens among those built during the Meiji era. The other two gardens (Murin-an and Seifu-so) are located in Kyoto. The garden is designated as one of the national scenic spots, and it was composed using Bugaku-ryu gardening manner. Moriyoshi Seitoh (garden creator) came up to Aomori from Kyoto. To build the garden, he combined the traditional Kyoto-style gardening, Buddhist culture, and the Shinto (traditional Japanese religion) styles, that is what Bugaku-ryu gardening manner stands for, at least that is my understanding based on the brochure that I picked up at that garden.
This is one of the sides of the garden. Apple trees grow just across the road.
This is Seibikan, the house in the garden. It is famous for the way it was built. The first floor's interior is in Japanese style, while the second floor was made using the Western style. The visitors are only allowed to see the bottom floor.
This is an interesting detail in the house's interior: a bath made of wood.
