Bus trip to the mall in Sendai/Автобусное путешествие в Сендаи

We took a bus trip to the mall in Sendai, here are some pictures that we took along the way. Kinda gives you an idea of what you see along the road.

Мы ездили на автобусе в торговый центр в городе Сендаи, вот некоторые фотографии, которые мы сделали на пути. Такая панорама была более или менее на всем пути следования.

  1. Silly question: why did they make the roads so narrow? and the parking on the street - I would think that there would be more accidents.

  2. I am not exactly sure why the roads are so narrow. I have some theories though. First of all, there aren't that many people here and the roads deal with traffic ok. Then, they take care of nature as much as possible and extra roads means stealing from the natural environment. My third idea is that they did not plan for traffic from the beginning (not much planning 2000 years ago :)), so they emptied out as much space as possible but also made it so that the roads are built on top of the historic paths.

As for the parking on the street -- I do not see many accidents, but the speed limits are much lower than in the US, so there is time to react.
