Roppongi Hills Center/

Roppongi Hills is a hotel in Tokyo that has a lot of shops and restaurants around it. There is also a movie theater and an observation deck. It's a place where people come to hang out, so there is even a subway station nearby called "Roppongi Hills." It gets pretty crowded and loud at night, but it is all good fun.

Escalator from subway conveniently leads to the hotel complex.

And if you have not yet noticed, the hotel was hosting the Tokyo International Film Festival.

This is the Mori tower, named after the tycoon who built the entire complex. The observation deck is on the 52-nd floor.

Also, along the way to the hotel. there is a great view at the Tokyo tower.

Modern architecture is everywhere around here.

This is the observation deck; it spans several floors and has a showroom on the loft. There was some Japanese architecture exposition at the time, no pictures were allowed though.

Tokyo from the 52nd floor. Tokyo is a huge but it is not too tall. The skyscrapers are located only in some parts of town.

A baseball stadium.

The other buildings of the hotel complex.

Tokyo Tower again.

Evening bumper-to-bumper traffic.

There are cafes, bars, and restaurants on the deck. Needless to say, it is very hard to get a table here, the places are always busy.

  1. Yep it looks like all the movies of Tokyo. Crazy that it's that huge. I like my little city. :) Tokyo tower looked really cool.
