Christmas in Japan/

Christmas traditions are different in Japan because Christianity is not very popular. The biggest tradition (at least in northeastern Japan) is for unmarried couples to have a dinner and a cake. The cakes come from pastry shops, but dinners come from KFC. KFC makes special Christmas sets available for pre-order long before Christmas (on the picture below the advertisement is right outside the store).

Another Christmas tradition is to ask a girl to get married, but it is also popular to ask that on her birthday.
