Grocery stores/

The first thing that came to my mind when I walked into a local Japanese grocery store was the variety of colors. There are colors in the vegetable section, isles, meat section. All colors are deep and bright. I think the lights are different and make the food shine. The second thing that came to my mind is that everything is laid out so accurately, everything seems to be in its own place, and even the things inside the packages seem to be laid out in some sort of order as well. The last thing that came to my mind was that the portion sizes are so small! I even got a piece of cheesecake to try out and it was about half the size of a Barnes & Noble cafe cheesecake. You can literally get one chicken breast. It will be fresh, but it will be only one chicken breast. And the variety of meats is great. Since I do not understand Japanese, I can only approximately tell what is what. That caused a bit of confusion when we wanted to try the deliciously-looking skewers. We got three different ones. The first one was for sure chicken. The second one (I think) was beef liver. The third one ... not sure, we did not even finish it.
