Mini-Europe/Мини-Европа

There is a park in Brussels named "Mini-Europe." It is a place where everyone can quickly get an impression about all the countries of European Union by looking at the miniature places of interest and reading (and listening) some information on what the country is famous for. It is a place where lots of schoolkids learn about the values of the EU from young age. And it's a cool playground too!

В Брюсселе есть парк, который называется "Мини-Европа". Здесь каждый может кратенько ознакомиться с достопримечательностями и особенностями каждой из стран Европейского Союза. К тому же здесь в миниатюре запечатлены достопримечательности каждой из стран. Дети здесь получают представление с малых лет об основных ценностях ЕС. Ну и тут есть с чем поиграть.

Many things on display here move around, boats go back and forth, there are many small fountains and other things for kids to play with. So the park is a popular family place.

Практически в каждой статической модели страны есть движущиеся части. Лодки плавают, фонтаны бьют ключом, поезда катаются туда-сюда, в общем это место где всей семье не будет скучно.

There is a sculpture depicting a peeing boy in Brussels. Here is a picture. The statue is pretty small, but it is famous.

Brussels downtown/Исторический центр Брюсселя

Downtown Brussels is scenic and beautiful. It has many tiny clean streets and every turn opens up a new view at the historic area. There are many pieces of art scattered around; some are old, and some -- not so much.

Центр Брюсселя красив и живописен. Несмотря на обилие глухих улочек, везде чисто. Очень много разнообразных художественных композиций, исторического значения и не очень.

Brussels: flower carpet/Брюссель: ковер из цветов

Every two years the Grand Marketplace in Brussels gets covered with flowers. This year they decided to go with the Turkish motives. Begonias were used to create the carpet.

Раз в два года на центральной (рыночной) площади Брюсселя выкладывают ковер из цветов. В этом году для ковра были выбраны турецкие мотивы. Изображение выложено бегониями.

This sign shows that there's a speed limit of 50 km/h (31 mph) in town, 90 km/h (56 mph) on a motorway (a road outside of a city limits, but not a highway) and 120 km/h (75 mph) on a highway if not posted otherwise. Roads are nice.

Brussels is the capital of Belgium. It is a pretty town. Here the modern buildings stand opposite to old houses.

There are quite a few parks and lots of greenery here despite the high land prices due to the fact that it is a capital city and an unofficial capital of the European Union.
