Needless to say, these bags are bought for the first-graders, and, in many cases, are gifts from the grandparents for the kids. Grandparents love their grandchildren very much and the school bag manufacturers use it to their advantage: the price of such a bag starts at 40,000 yen, which is over $500 as of today.

Такой портфель покупают первоклассникам, и зачастую с ним ходят в школу три и более лет. У портфеля есть один небольшой недостаток -- цена. Именно такой портфель стоит больше сорока тысяч иен, что в переводе на рубли на сегодняшний день составляет больше четырнадцати тысяч.
