The longest undersea railway tunnel/

The longest undersea railway tunnel in the world is the Seikan tunnel located between the two largest Japanese islands, Honshu (the largest one) and Hokkaido (the one on the very north of the country). This picture was taken inside one of the trains that go through that tunnel several times a day.

I will talk a little bit about the train seat itself. On the top right, you may notice a ticket holder. That is just a pocket that you could put your ticket in. When the attendant comes by, he/she can pull the ticket out of the holder for the check without having to bother you if you decide to sleep on the train. Also, there is a note that warns you that lost tickets cannot be replaced. The reason for the note being there is that on every type of public transportation that I used in Japan, the ticket is checked in the beginning of the journey as well as at the end.

The train ride under the tunnel takes between 20 and 30 minutes. And that is what the view is for almost the entire time.

The longest railway tunnel in the world is the Gotthard Base Tunnel, but I doubt that the view is any different.
