Japanese Post Office/Японское отделение почты

This picture was taken in one of the post offices of a small town. Post office in Japan is more than just mailing packages, it is also insurance, savings bank, and it is possible to pay some bills here. One other important point is that every post office has an ATM that can let you withdraw money from a Visa or a MasterCard. There are ATMs in Japan that don't work with these cards at all.

На этой фотографии виден интерьер почтового отделения небольшого города в Японии. Почта в Японии не только для писем и посылок. Это еще и страховка, оплата счетов, а также сберегательная касса. Для иностранных туристов японская почта полезна тем, что в каждом отделении есть банкомат, который работает с карточками Visa и MasterCard. Некоторые японские банкоматы только принимают карточки японских систем оплаты.

And if you see a red truck with the same symbol driving around town, it is a mail man delivering goodies to people.

Если на улице встретится красная машина с таким же знаком, то это почтальон.

Another spoon/Еще одна ложечка

Japan keeps surprising me. This time it was the spoon isle at the 100-yen store. Simple but brilliant,  a spoon that does not drown in a jar of jam or honey or whatever.

Япония продолжает удивлять, на этот раз мне попалась еще одна интересная ложечка в магазине где все стоит 100 иен. Не надо гнуть домашнюю ложку, можно купить специальную и она не будет падать в банку с вареньем (или медом, кому что нравится).
